Every year, approximately 30,000 people end up in the emergency department as a result of a traffic accident and 600 die. The impact of a traffic accident is enormous. Especially for children. If they do not receive specialized trauma and grief treatment, children can experience (serious) complaints in the short and long term. Garage label CarProf to which Autobedrijf Roeleveld is affiliated wants to contribute to this and has been supporting the project since 2020 TrafVic-Kids from Victim Support Fund.
TrafVic-Kids
TrafVic-Kids conducts scientific research into the consequences of an accident for a child. They are victims themselves, or lose their parent or brother, for example. The young victims may become depressed or angry as a result of this trauma. Or have difficulty learning and interacting with peers or parents. With the knowledge from research, these children receive specialist help. Help comes online and through a nationwide network of therapists. This reduces the risk of psychological, social and behavioral complaints.
Victim Support Fund
The Victim Support Fund was established in 1989 by honorary chairman Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven. With the Traffic Accidents programme, the fund focuses on broadening and structurally improving the assistance offered to traffic victims and their relatives. Financially, emotionally and legally. For example, they work on strengthening the (legal) position and facilitate contact with fellow sufferers and emergency aid. TrafVic-Kids is a new project within this fund.
50 cents per APK to the Victim Support Fund
From each APK All CarProf locations in the Netherlands pay €0.50 to the Victim Support Fund. The APK promotion was well received in January 2020 and is supported by the network. An interim status of the collected amount will be communicated on the CarProf website every month.
